Who We Are: Nazarene Southern Florida District
As part of the Nazarene Southern Florida District, we're a lively, multicultural community of believers united by our faith, love, and shared mission. Our district truly mirrors the diversity of South Florida, with a special focus on reaching Haitian, Hispanic, Anglo, and other ethnic groups with the life-changing message of Christ. We are dedicated to living a life of holiness, growing as disciples, and serving our communities both practically and spiritually.
The Church of the Nazarene and Our Mission
The Church of the Nazarene is a holiness denomination rooted in the Wesleyan tradition, established in 1908. Our core mission is to "make Christlike disciples in the nations." We emphasize:
- Entire Sanctification: Living a holy life empowered by the Holy Spirit.
- Evangelism & Compassion: Sharing the Gospel and caring for those in need.
- Education & Discipleship: Equipping believers through strong biblical teaching.
Within the Haitian community, the Church of the Nazarene is particularly focused on:
- Church Planting: Establishing new congregations to connect with Haitian immigrants and their families.
- Leadership Development: Training pastors and lay leaders to serve effectively.
- Community Outreach: Addressing spiritual and physical needs through ministries like healthcare, education, and disaster relief.
Haitian Leadership in the USA/Canada Region: Rev. Dr. Pascal Permis
Rev. Dr. Pascal Permis serves as the Field Strategy Coordinator (FSC) for the Haitian Ministries of the USA/Canada Region of the Church of the Nazarene. In this vital role, he:
- Oversees the growth and development of Haitian Nazarene churches throughout the U.S. and Canada.
- Provides pastoral training, resources, and strategic planning specifically for Haitian congregations.
- Collaborates closely with district leaders to strengthen outreach and discipleship efforts.
- We also work in close collaboration with our sister churches in Indiantown and Port St. Lucie, FL, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Pascal Permis.
Our Local Church Pastor: Rev. Renet Permis
Under the guidance of Pastor Renet Permis, our leader in Stuart, FL, our local Nazarene church is devoted to:
- Worship & Holiness: Cultivating a deep, Spirit-filled relationship with God.
- Discipleship: Teaching and mentoring believers to grow in their faith.
- Mission & Service: Engaging in local and global evangelism, supporting missions, and meeting the needs of our community.
